March Meeting – Diagnostic Tests for Bee Diseases

Past Event

March 11, 7:00 – 9:00 pm
Join us this month as Ernie Colaizzi discusses diagnostic tests for bee diseases.  His lab offers tests for several bee diseases and he hopes to learn how better to serve our community.

Dr. Colaizzi is President of Research Associates Laboratory located in Dallas Texas, the nations “oldest and most experienced veterinary molecular diagnostic laboratory.”  An avid animal lover, he helped determine the first sets of ‘normal values’ for blood chemistries and hematology in avian species in the late 1970’s.  His lab has worked to increase research and testing in bird species, reptiles and other exotic animals, pest insects and detection strategies, plant diseases and now are excited to add Bee diseases and problems to their ever growing list.

The Q&A Session starts at 6:45. Come early to get your beekeeping questions answered by our more experienced members in a more informal setting. Also, we will have  Alan Eynon with our monthly “In the Hive”.

All meetings are free and open to the public. Feel free to attend even if you don’t know anything about beekeeping–it’s a great chance to see what it’s all about!
