kacycoleJoin us to learn more about pest and disease control in your hives. Kacy Cole of Dadant’s Paris (Texas) location will be joining us to talk about significant honeybee pests and disease and the products Dadant offers to treat them. He will be bringing current Dadant catalogs as well as some samples of the featured pest- and disease-control products so you can see them in person and purchase if desired.

More about Kacy: Kacy has been the Paris branch manager for Dadant & Sons for nearly five years. He attended Texas A&M Commerce and graduated with a bachelors degree in agribusiness in 2010. He has a sideline business running about 100 hives and is planning to expand to 300 next year. He is married with a two-year-old daughter and another little one on the way, plus two dogs. His hobbies include duck hunting and fishing when he has the time.

More about Dadant & Sons: Dadant is one of TVBA’s generous 2016 scholarship sponsors! The Dadant family has been involved in beekeeping for over 180 years. Now in its seventh generation, Dadant has 10 branch locations and four manufacturing facilities in the United States. The company continues to remain the largest manufacturer of beekeeping supplies and believes that “it pays to furnish good goods.” For more info, visit www.dadant.com.

PLUS we will have a few TV Bees T-shirts for sale or order; if you ordered a shirt prior to the June meeting, please bring $20 cash or check to pick up your shirt! If we don’t have the size or color you want, you can place an order at the July meeting.

The Q&A Session starts at 6:45. Come early to get your beekeeping questions answered by our more experienced members in a more informal setting.

Also, we will have our “Bee Plant of the Month” and Alan Eynon with our monthly “In the Hive” to refresh your memory of the beekeeping seasons. We will serve light refreshments and feature a fun selection of beekeeping-related door prizes. See you there!
