Queen Rearing for the Hobbyist

The Theater Topic for the January meeting of TVBA is a lecture on queen rearing for the hobbyist.  Bruce Bonnett will talk about queen rearing techniques requiring only the type of equipment that the hobbyist beekeeper already has on hand.  These non-grafting techniques fit easily within the skills of novice beekeepers.  Bee reproductive biology and the steps from the breeder hive to the mating nucleus will be covered.

Bruce owns an electrical engineering consulting company specializing in process & controls automation.  He is a sideline beekeeper maintaining 30 hives.  He currently serves on the board of directors of the Trinity Valley Beekeepers Association as Secretary.

The lecture will begin just before the monthly membership meeting at 6 PM January 9th in the Point Theater on C.C. Young Campus.
