When/Where is TVBA's Annual Honey Tasting?

The Annual Honey Tasting will be held Tuesday, August 26 at 7 PM in place of the monthly General Meeting that month at The Point & Pavilion Facility at CC Young.

How do I enter my honey into the competition?

Click here to register & reserve your table space to compete- RSVP REQUIRED TO COMPETE. Table Space is prioritized for TVBA member beekeepers who have registered in advance. Registration for attendees tasting + sampling to samples is appreciated so we can plan for the right-sized crowd PLEASE REGISTER!

Do I have to be a TVBA member to participate?

The Honey Tasting Party & Competition is open to the public. Anyone can enter to compete or attend and taste the samples. A donation jar of a competitors' honey is appreciated (for a later auction fundraiser).

Who votes on the Honey Samples?

All attendees are welcome to cast their vote- one vote per person.

Does everyone compete, or can I just attend & taste the honey samples?

The Honey Tasting Party is open to all: competitors & tasters alike- provided we have sufficient space! Come gobble-up the yummy fun and RSVP so we can plan table space and snacks + drinks accordingly!

Is there a prize for winning?

The Beekeeper with the greatest number of votes for his or her honey will receive a $50 gift certificate to Rooster Home & Hardware as well as a signed certificate labeled "Best Honey in Dallas 2025!" He or she (and their bees) will also receive recognition on the TVBA website, social media and, of course, one year of Bragging Rights!

Welcome to the Trinity Valley Beekeepers Association of Dallas, Texas

TVBA is dedicated to educate members and the public on subjects related to bees, beekeeping practices, and laws or ordinances that regulate beekeeping and products of the hive. To provide liaison to and coordination with governmental agencies and programs affecting beekeeping.

July Meeting: Annual Honey Tasting Party & Competition including a presentation on "The Invention of Creamed Honey and How to Make Your Own" by Lisa Dittfurth of Crooked Creek Honey Farm.

This event is a must-attend for anyone interested in the fascinating world of bees, local food, and community. Whether you're a seasoned beekeeper, a curious gardener, or simply a fan of delicious honey, you're encouraged to join. The competition will be judged by attendees at the event. RSVP to attend/taste or participate/bring honey.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME TO OUR MEETINGS.

Established in 1969, Trinity Valley Beekeepers Association has served beekeepers and nature enthusiasts for 55 years! A 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization, TVBA’s goal is to educate the our membership and the public on subjects related to bees, beekeeping practices, state and local laws or ordinances that regulate beekeeping and products of the hives. We strive to provide both liaison to and coordination with governmental agencies with programs and activities affecting beekeeping. Our members are from Dallas and the surrounding areas of North and East Texas and beyond. All are welcome at every meeting or event!

TVBA hosts Monthly Educational Meetings with various topics of interest relevant to both the seasoned beekeeper as well as the beginner beekeeper or simply any bee-lover. Each meeting includes a Speaker Presentation, an optional Beginner Beekeeping Class, Seasonal Content and of course- fun and fellowship with like-minded people.
